¶ Forgotten Password
If you've forgotten your password for ACSM you can reset it to get access back, via one of these methods:
¶ Emperor Servers
- Go to the Emperor Servers Control Panel and log in if you are not already
- Click the "Manage Server" button next to the server that you have forgotten the password to
- Click the "Login Details" tab (this may not be available if your server is currently doing a job, in this case try again in a few minutes)
- Click the "Reset Server Password" button
- Wait for an email from us confirming that your password has been reset, it should only take a few minutes
- Your new password will be included in the confirmation email, and will be shown in the "Login Details" tab as well
¶ Self Hosted
If you have forgotten your Server Manager password, you can reset it by following these steps:
- Stop the Server Manager
- Open the config.yml file in a text editor
- Look for the
admin_password_overridesetting, and set it to have a password, e.g.admin_password_override: somepassword - Start Server Manager
- Log in to Server Manager with the username "admin" and the password you set above
- You will be prompted to reset your account password, change it to a memorable password.
- Once you have done this, you can stop the Server Manager and edit the
admin_password_overrideto be empty again, and finally start the Server Manager.
From then on, you should be able to use the password you set in step 6.
The default admin user cannot be deleted or have its group changed.
¶ Create A New Server Manager Account
Running your own AC server is great fun until you realise how much work it is, at that point the best course of action is to get somebody else to do all of the management work for you!
If you want to do that (or just run a more locked down server manager where only people with accounts can view results etc.) the easiest way is to create an account for them.
First navigate to Server -> Accounts
Then click the Add Account button
Now enter the details for the new account. The username can be anything you like, the group controls the permission level that the account will have on server manager, and the default password is auto generated. Copy this password and send it to whoever you are setting the account up for, they will be prompted to replace it with their own password the first time they log in. When you're happy with the details click the Add User button.
Now just send the username and password to whoever you are setting the account up for and you're done! You can always go back and edit/add more accounts later on.
